We Air(wallex) The Champions… of the Fintech Business Awards

Airwallex have been hailed as the Fintech Business Awards ‘Payments Innovator of the Year’ for 2017, defeating nine competitors to the position. Held in the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney, the Awards selected 18 winners from over 300 nominations. The evening marked the inauguration of the awards, which were initiated to laud innovation and celebrate entrepreneurship within the fintech sector. Other notable achievements of the night included a win for Daniel Foggo, Chief Executive of RateSetter, who received the award for Business Excellence and Claire Wivell Plater, who was championed as Fintech Mentor of the Year.

The award comes in the midst of a series of highs for the company. Over the past few weeks we have made exciting steps in developing our products and affiliates globally. Our Head of Sales and Partnerships, Joe McGuire has just returned from a tour of Europe where he was discussing strategic partnerships and generally spreading Airwallex joy to the masses. At the MPE conference in Germany and StartPath in Dublin, Joe discussed China’s rise to the top of the world of mobile payments, and best the practices of fundraising in China, speaking alongside industry leaders such as Twitter’s Mark Little.

We continue to expand our reach in the coming months. Next week, our founder, Jack Zhang, will be speaking at Asia’s premier eCommerce event, eTail Asia. Attending alongside a number of high-profile business leaders including the directors of Pizza Hut, Levi Strauss & Co and BFMe.com, he will be pioneering a session on how CX strategies can shape the future of cross-border eCommerce. We are proud of the recent progress we've made, and cannot wait to see more fantastic results coming up in the near future.
